For the love of a PARTY! Big thinking goes into the small details of every experience and this event was a wonderful collision of beauty, fun and flowers. Fluid and unstructured beds of wildflowers were dotted about the space, reflecting the abundance of love and explosion of fun. As dinner concluded, twinkling lights (hidden within the florals) lit up the dancefloor in a most romantic way. Life and love were celebrated in explosions of colour, cushions and canapés. The idyllic location for this wedding was a privately-owned winery, nestled in the rolling hills of the Mornington Peninsula, surrounded by picturesque vineyards and all-round breathtaking views and romantic vibes.
Vows were exchanged with a picture-perfect backdrop of vineyards and undulating countryside. Outdoors on a warm day, no detail was spared, and guests were offered hand fans, parasols and fashionable wide-brim hats to keep cool while the couple tied the knot.
The reception dinner styling was elegant and simplistically refined to complement the delicate native splendour of the property and winery region. Neutral timber tables were accented with luscious green foliage, soft floral centrepieces and beautiful organic shaped crockery from The Design Depot. The menu too paid homage to the uninterrupted beauty of the surroundings and showcased delicate flavours and local produce.
As the sun set on the vineyard, romantic commemoration and celebration was in the air as guests danced long into the night under the stars.
Every so often a brave client comes along who isn’t afraid of doing something slightly mad.
On this occasion we wanted something completely unique to celebrate the wedding of a gorgeous New York couple. We missioned to find the most unusual space to host the event, looking at country homes, out of town galleries, and other venues far and wide – yet nothing felt quite right.
One day, we stumbled across a very grotty looking car park. Over 5-floors of an old Victorian building, it had vaulted windows overlooking the CBD, raw wooden floors and amazing cast iron pillars. Our eyes saw past the grit and we started to see something beautiful, something magical, and something totally out of the ordinary. To our luck, so did the client.
We decided to use two floors, one for a dramatic candlelit ceremony, and the other for wining, dining and entertaining. As the building was weathered, windows needed to be re-installed, entry doors and walls built to create zones, toilets, kitchens, lighting, carpeting inserted and of course furnishings and decorative elements.
Hidden within the lush green walls of a stunning private home, the ceremony location set the tone for this magical wedding. Neutral tones and accents of green, this setup showcased real, natural beauty.
For the reception dinner, a short drive away, The Showgrounds are transformed into a secret garden.
Inspired by the sea of green that is Central Park, as well as wild rose gardens, the perfect scene is set for a night of surprise, whimsical glamour and excitement. Overhead flies a sea of roses, encompassing guests in a field of upside-down flowers, with chandeliers piercing through and adding that touch of twinkle.
Cecelia Fox’s floral played the most integral part in this wedding, bringing with it the perfect combination of wild, feminine, textural and seemingly-ever-existing.
