During Covid-19 isolation we were feeling a bit flat and in need of some inspiration. So we chatted with some of our talented and creative collaborators and asked them a few questions about their careers and how we can get creative in isolation. Meet our last ‘Industry Inspiration’ Melbourne based videographer Marcus Theodor.
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Marcus and I have been running C2 Films in Melbourne and Sydney for 18 years. C2 Films is more than just incredible filmmakers, we are here to support you on your big day! At the start of the day we meet as strangers, at the end of the day we say goodbye as friends.
How long have you been in the industry?
I have been a wedding videographer for 25 years – a lot of experience and a lot of weddings!
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the industry?
Make sure you enjoy what you do! You must really love the people and love the environment of families coming together and be respectful of different cultures and traditions. It is important to always immerse yourself but also be truly authentic. I find what works for me is you can’t take yourself too seriously when shooting! You’re spending the whole day with the couple; you need to learn to work with them and help them relax on the day. Find your way to be a friend or a family member! There are also plenty of tutorials out there that will show composition and how to film, what gear to buy and what lenders to look at.
